What you can do

TrendTag stores analytics for Instagram and TikTok accounts you connect yourself. You sign in with an email address. During the beta the service is free, and features and screens can change without notice.

Opening a screen does not call the official app. The numbers are data saved at connect time and on later updates.

  • Dashboard, Accounts, Inbox, Trends, Notifications, and Settings
  • Account analysis: monthly summary, monthly report, engagement, followers, posts, and hashtags. Comments are available for both Instagram and TikTok
  • Instagram only: Stories, mentions, and tagged posts
  • Inbox groups comments as open, done, or ignored
  • Trends are popular hashtags across TikTok. They are separate from your own post analytics
  • CSV download on account analysis and on the trends list
  • Digest email in Settings (weekly or monthly, off until you opt in). Each email includes an unsubscribe link
  • Anomaly alerts in Settings (a sharp drop in followers, or a post that far exceeds the average a few days after it is published). They also appear on the notifications screen

When a connection fails

Add a connection from Settings with 「Instagram を追加」 or 「TikTok を追加」. Use 「再連携」 to authorize an account that is already connected.

Can I connect a personal Instagram account?

No. The profile request is rejected unless account_type is BUSINESS, CREATOR, or MEDIA_CREATOR. Settings then says that an Instagram business or creator account is required.

Switch the Instagram account to a business or creator account, then use 「Instagram を追加」 or 「再連携」 in Settings.

Instagram says permissions are missing

Settings may show 「Instagram の権限が不足しています」, followed by the missing permission names. Insights or comments can be incomplete. Use 「再連携」 on that warning to grant them again.

If comment permission was turned off, Settings says that comment permission is required. Use Review consent to open the consent screen again and allow comment permission.

That warning alone does not add the 「再連携が必要」 badge.

Which TikTok account can I connect?

The in-app connection is a single authorization from Settings. Settings also shows the sentence that TikTok is limited to business accounts.

The connection flow does not reject an account only because it is not a business account. If the profile request succeeds, the account is saved. The badge says Business when the business flag is true, and Creator otherwise.

If required permissions are denied, Settings asks you to allow every permission that was shown.

This TikTok is already connected by someone else

Settings says that another user has already connected this account. The person who connected it has to disconnect it.

I want to add a different TikTok account

If this workspace already has a TikTok account, adding another one first says the signed-in account will be chosen. Switch it by logging out at tiktok.com or by opening a private window.

I cannot connect before confirming my email

SNS connections stay blocked until the address is confirmed. Settings asks you to open the confirmation email and try again.

Some addresses cannot be used for an SNS connection. Settings then asks you to register with an address you normally use.

I cancelled the authorization

Settings says the Instagram or TikTok connection was cancelled. Start Add again from Settings.

When “Reconnect required” appears

That account shows 「再連携が必要」 and a 「再連携」 button. 「データを更新」 is not shown. Authorize again from the button.

Instagram shows this after repeated authorization errors. TikTok shows this when refreshing the token fails.

Connection limits and the waiting list

A workspace starts with a limit of 10 connections. The screen shows usage as 「10件中3件使用」 (3 of a limit of 10) for that workspace. At the limit, a new connection is refused with the workspace limit message. Reconnecting an account that is already connected does not count against the limit.

Past the service-wide capacity, Settings says the service-wide limit has been reached, or that the account is waiting. The waiting count is listed with the connections. The capacity can be changed by the operator, so this page does not state a fixed service-wide number.

Updates and differences from the official apps

When do the numbers update?

The first fetch starts when the connection finishes. After that, the daily update runs once at 20:00 UTC (05:00 Japan time). Dates on screen and the daily record date use the Japan calendar day.

Instagram Stories are fetched again about every four hours, separately from the daily run. Insights update at the same time, and only Stories that are still published (within 24 hours of posting) can be fetched. The daily sync and a manual refresh fetch them again too. Early-velocity on a post detail keeps an hourly snapshot for the first 24 hours after publishing. Posts from before you connected, or from before this recording started, show "--".

Can I refresh it myself?

Use 「データを更新」 in Settings. Within five minutes of the last refresh it is refused, and the screen says how many minutes remain (「N分後に再実行できます」).

Posts and similar data for the same external account are fetched only once per Japan calendar day. The screen says 「本日の取得は完了しています」. Right after you choose a TikTok industry, that same day may still fetch only the industry average.

Why do the numbers differ from the official app?

Screens show saved data. They are not the official app’s “right now”, because the last fetch time is different. The daily job runs at 05:00 Japan time.

Metric definitions are not necessarily the same as the official app. “What the metrics mean” below is the TrendTag definition. A value that could not be fetched is "--", not zero.

Instagram reach and similar insights become "--" about two years after the post. Likes and comments remain. TikTok video-view insights stop updating 365 days after the post.

The TikTok industry average on the monthly summary is a simple average of Business accounts worldwide, not a Japan-market average. Follower count is people per account, follower growth is people over the last 30 days, video count is the account’s cumulative videos, likes and comments are per video, and views are per account. Instagram has no official industry average.

What the metrics mean

The engagement screen, post detail, and monthly summary show a short definition note. The formulas on this page match those notes.

Engagement rate

Instagram is the sum of likes, comments, saves, and shares ÷ the sum of reach. TikTok is the sum of likes, comments, and shares ÷ the sum of plays. That is a different definition from Instagram views.

On the monthly summary, engagement rate is the average of each post’s rate for posts published in the period you are viewing. On the dashboard, it is the sum of numerators ÷ the sum of denominators for posts that have a record in the period.

Observations with a missing, non-positive, or non-numeric denominator are left out. "--" means unavailable or missing. Zero is a measured zero.

Reach, views, and impressions

Instagram reach is the unique accounts that saw the post in Meta post insights. From April 2025, reach is shown as views. Older impressions were measured differently.

About two years after a post, Meta’s retention window makes reach and similar insights "--". Likes and comments remain.

Story completion rate

(display count − exits − taps forward) ÷ display count. It is calculated only when all three values are numbers and the display count is greater than zero. The result is clamped between 0 and 1.

Workspaces and teams

Team features are planned for the second phase.

What is a workspace?

Signing up creates a personal workspace. Connected accounts belong to that workspace. When you belong to two or more, a switcher appears at the top left of the app.

Is the team screen always available?

No. Settings shows 「チーム」 only when the operator has enabled team invites. Otherwise there is no screen to create or invite a team.

When it is enabled, 「チーム」 in Settings lets you create a team, invite by email, change roles, and move a connection from a personal workspace into the team. Posts and analytics already saved stay. Only a personal-workspace connection can be moved.

An invitation expires after 24 hours. Sign in with the invited email address. The last owner cannot be removed. During the beta, the initial limit is one workspace you own. If you already have a personal workspace, creating a team requires the operator to raise that limit.

Owner, member, and view-only

An owner can manage members and the workspace. A member can add connections. A view-only member cannot add connections or send invitations.

If a view-only member is assigned specific connections, they see only those. With no assignment yet, they can see the workspace.

The initial member limit is 5, including pending invitations. At the limit, new invitations are refused.

Monthly report share links

How to create a link, and how long it lasts

You can create a share link from the monthly report. The expiry is 1, 7, or 30 days. Anyone with the link can view that month’s report without signing in.

The URL is shown only on that screen. Revoke a link from the same screen when you no longer want it. An invalid, expired, or revoked link cannot be opened.

What the link reveals is the responsibility of the person who created it.

Plans and billing

Is there a charge?

During the beta the service is free. Features and screens can change without notice.

The app has no payment, plan change, invoice, receipt, or specified-commercial-transactions page.

What exists today are connection and member limits. A workspace starts at 10 connections. A team starts at 5 members, including pending invitations. The operator can raise these for a workspace. Use the usage line in Settings for the limit that applies to you.

Deleting data and closing an account

The data-deletion page has the full procedure.

Data deletion

Close the account

After you sign in, use 「アカウントを削除(退会)」 in Settings. That deletes the data tied to the account, including connected SNS accounts, posts, and analytics. It cannot be undone.

Disconnect only an SNS account

To keep the TrendTag account, choose disconnect on that account in Settings. Data collected for that SNS account is deleted.

Removing TrendTag only inside the Instagram or TikTok app does not automatically delete data already stored here. Use account deletion or disconnect to remove it.

When Settings is not available

Email a deletion request from your registered address to info@reaplus.jp. The data-deletion page states that email requests are completed within 14 business days.
